Our guest room is completely painted and the furniture all in place I am just waiting on the new light fixture to arrive (it's supposed to be here today - yay!) and I need to add a few more accessories. Our master bedroom is midway through being painted right now so it's a total disaster. I finished up painting the trim yesterday but still need one more coat on the windows and then I will attack the doors (there are SIX doors - ugh!) and then walls.  I thought I would share some photos of what some of the other rooms look like now with all the Christmas decorations put away. I just added a couple of Target pillows and pulled our Love is Patient Pillow Set back out. I added some dried hydrangeas from the fall to the chest behind the sofa and put our two amaryllis plants on the mantel. Recap of our Before and Afters So Far and TODAY ONLY SALE

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Sorry  - I have been a bit behind on blogging! We have been busy painting though and should have some new things to show you soon. We are almost done painting the upstairs hallway (the walls and trim are done, I'm just finishing up the doors) and have finished up with the doors and trim in the first guest bedroom and I'm hoping to paint the walls in there tonight. I also found a sideboard yesterday at a consignment shop so I can't wait to add that to our dining room. And I think I may have found a hutch for in there as well, although I haven't decided on that for sure yet. I also need to photograph our window treatment in the kitchen above the sink that I made several weeks ago as well as several of our new Christmas products. Now that we are starting painting the upstairs I thought that we would do a little recap of the progress we've made downstairs. Except for the family room, we still have projects left in all these spaces but they at least look quite a bit more fresh and updated then when we moved in!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">First, here is the kitchen. I've been hunting on Craigslist and all the local consignment shops for a while now for a sideboard and hutch and finally found a sideboard at a consignment shop yesterday! We still aren't done with the kitchen but we are getting closer. Then we primed and painted the cabinets. We painted them in Simply White using Benjamin Moore's Advanced line. We've gotten a lot of questions about painting cabinets and even though I don't really have any new or good advice after I finish photographing and sharing with you our new kitchen I will do a full post on priming and painting cabinets and share what I have learned. They were all a dirty creamy yellowish color so it was nice defining the trimwork. We used Revere Pewter on the walls and the same Simply White on the trim that we used on the cabinets. The walls and trim were all that dirty yellowish cream color and the ceiling was green. We painted all of that in the same colors as the kitchen seeing how the rooms flow together. We were planning on putting an IKEA butcher block on it but when we went to get it they were sold out and seeing how it's a lengthy trip to to the nearest IKEA up there it might be a while before we make another trip so we went ahead and just got some plywood and have that on the island for now. Originally I had planned on doing a pink themed room for my final option based on Lillie and Lola's usual color suggestions =), and I even found a few things that I thought would help me do it in a grown up way. However, I used most of my budget on the second option and didn't want to break the rules so ended up just using many of the same items I have had in here over the years but just rearranging them a bit. First, I switched the sofa back to help separate the living room from the dining room and then put the mirrored chest back in front of the window and then I used the two tufted chairs on either side of it. I LOVE having wingback chairs used at the end of the table and even though day to day it would not have been practical in this space I am hoping I will be able to do something like this in our new home where we will have a formal dining room.
