I've got our living room photographed with our new rug so I will try to get those pictures ready to post soon and we are getting really really close to being done with the entryway and powder room so hopefully I will be able to photograph those next week! And if it ever stops raining I think I'll be able to photograph the front of our house. We took down the shutters over the weekend and then painted the front door and I am so much happier with how it looks now.  Then it's back to the upstairs. I've got the trimwork all primed in the hallway upstairs. Now I just need to give it about four coats of Simply White (not looking forward to that!) then paint the doors and walls and I will finally be able to start on one of the bedrooms! Our New Give Thanks Placemats

I plan on giving it a fresh coat of paint. Mostly likely it will be in a darker gray to help break up all of the white but I haven't decided exactly what color yet. Possibly Shenandoah Taupe (which is really more of a medium gray color) which I used on the base of the dining room bench I made last fall. And no, I don't actually have my pumpkins out yet - haha! I just got them from the attic and used them to give these placemats a more appropriate "autumny" setting. =) You can get a little peek of our new sconces in this shot. You basically open the front door and are in the living room. When we first moved in though, we tried to use the small wall behind the front door and treated it sort of like an entry-way. It functions fine, but I have some ideas for making it more of a true entry-way space...someday... For now though, we have an old bench that opens up and we can store bags, extra shoes, outdoor chalk for the girls, tennis balls, and all sorts of random things. I'm not a huge fan of how the bench looks but it's practical and until I decide for sure what I want to to here it is fine.
